At the Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center Alzheimer’s Program, our mission is:

• To provide quality, loving care in a specially designed environment for persons diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. Our program is unique because we specifically serve those individuals whose aggressive or combative behavior make other living arrangements unrealistic.
• To be “resident” focused. We work closely with the residents’ families and community agencies to seek the most appropriate placement when the specialized services of our program are no longer needed.
• To apply state-of-the-art knowledge in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. This program keeps abreast of current research and is innovative in finding new ways to enhance the quality of life for our residents. Both clinical and applied research opportunities are being explored with academic institutions.
