Description of Work

The black mountain center accepts applications on a continuous basis for health care technicians. Health care technicians provide training, basic care and therapeutic services to Alzheimer's clients and also to persons with Developmental Disabilities.

Positions are available on 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd shifts.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Some knowledge of the principles and practices of health care and the techniques of practical nursing.
• Some knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, and common health and safety precautions.
• Experience/training in the care of the aged and disabilities would be helpful.
• The employee must be patient, tactful, cheerful, courteous and enthusiastic.
• This position requires an ability to relate well to people, a willingness to learn, a willingness to accept suggestions/criticism, and initiative and flexibility in conforming to residents' needs.

Training and Experience Requirements

High school or GED. Special condition for continued employment as applicable: registration as a nurse aide by the North Carolina Board of Nursing within four months of employment.
