The philosophy of the Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center
Alzheimer’s Program is to:
- Provide state of the art services for persons with dementia who exhibit combative-aggressive behaviors which make other living
arrangements unrealistic.
- Establish a close working relationship with families and community agencies, in an effort to seek alternative placements once the
specialized services of the Alzheimer’s Program are no longer appropriate.
The Admission Criteria for the Black Mountain
Neuro-Medical Treatment Center Alzheimer’s Program is:
- The applicant has a diagnosis which indicates probable Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementia.
- The applicant’s primary need is management of problem behaviors associated with dementia. The applicant exhibits
physically aggressive/combative behaviors, making him/her potentially dangerous to self/others.
- Applicant is mobile.
- Applicant and or legal representative is a resident of North Carolina at the time of application.
